Twitter Wit fave
I almost posted something tasteless on Twitter, as follows: “I just read all of Twitter Wit while taking a dump. Of course, I never left the aisle at Barnes & Noble, so I didn’t have to spend a dime.”
The joke being, of course, that on the one hand I am a cheapskate who would rather spend the time reading at a bookstore than spend the measly $13 to support a budding young writer and a leader of the Twitter community. And on the other hand, that I’ve just had a BM in a public space. (At the Barnes & Noble at the Grove, the Humor section is right next to Kids.)
But I refrained, because neither of those two things is true. And saying things that are not true is called lying.
